ABOUT ME
Natasha Herbert, Clinical Psychologist
BA, BPsychSc (Hons), MPsychol(Clin)
Pronouns: She/Her

I am a Clinical Psychologist and AHPRA Board Approved Supervisor based in Sydney CBD. I have worked as a Registered Psychologist since 2014, and have helped clients with their mental health and wellbeing for over 11 years.
My Style
My approach is empathic, down-to-earth, and practical. I hope to make you feel empowered, safe and encouraged to make the changes you want to in your life. Whilst this can be difficult, I will work alongside you to guide and cheer-lead you through the process.
I use a blend of Schema and EMDR Therapy, along with other therapies as needed, to help understand the root causes of your difficulties and to create insight, compassion and change. Whilst I prioritise compassion and understanding, I am also willing and able to gently challenge you when needed, so you can stay accountable to the changes you want to make. I believe therapy can be a place where you are both soothed and stretched (for good!).
Past Experience
I have worked with children, adolescents and adults across multiple settings, including public and private hospitals, clinical research centres, schools, and private practice. I am passionate about helping individuals with a range of life difficulties and concerns. I work inclusively with clients from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds, spiritual/religious beliefs, and identities (LGBTIQA+, Neurodiverse).
I have also worked extensively with individuals with eating disorders and body image concerns. I have worked across various Inpatient, Day Program, Outpatient, and private practice settings in NSW (including Wesley Hospital Eating Disorder Clinic, Ashfield; Peter Beumont Day Program and the the Outpatient Eating Disorder Service at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital). I am trained in several different therapy approaches for eating disorders, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Enhanced for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), Specialist Supportive Clinical Management (SSCM), Cognitive Remediation Therapy (CRT), and Schema Therapy (ST). I also draw on the the Carolyn Costin Model along with other approaches (e.g. EMDR/trauma and attachment based models). I have had the opportunity to work closely with GPs, Psychiatrists, Dietitians, Occupational therapists, Art Therapists, and Exercise Physiologists, and appreciate the benefit of a multidisciplinary approach to care. I will work with you wholistically, to find your own individual path to recovery.
Alongside working with clients, I have also been a clinical supervisor at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Psychology Clinic, helping provisional psychologists complete their clinical training.
